Hawaii Department of Health will be holding a public Zoom meeting this Friday (Oct 30) to discuss plans for the Red Hill fuel tanks and we need folks to submit their testimony due tomorrow (Oct 29 at Noon).
Check out the Star Advertiser's recent article about the Red Hill facility! The EPA and State Department of Health rejects Navy TUA plan.
But it's not over, so now is the time to push! Get as many friends/family/associates to also submit in rejecting the Navy's plan. Also now may be the opportunity to argue against allowing the Navy until 2038 to fix the tanks!! Way too long! We need to protect our aquifer now, not 18 years from now. We are advocating relocation! But will settle for proper double wall construction of tanks not the Navy's ideal of lining tanks.
Submit your comments and testimony to Thu Perry (thu.perry@doh.hawaii.gov) by tomorrow Thursday, October 29, 2020 no later than 12:00 pm HST .
The meeting will be held this Friday, October 30, 2020 starting promptly at 1:00 pm HST via Zoom (meeting will open 12:45 pm HST) which you can join HERE.
